Constellation is a group of Stars (Planetary Systems) in the Farsite universe. Traveling between constelations are more expensive than traveling in local Star area.
Formally, a Constellation defines a Season in the game. With the first Constellation called “Homestead” only a few (8-10) Stars will be introduced. Only 4-5 Planets will be explored on the game start and available for Sectors acquisition. A couple of Stations will be established, with 6-8 more to be constructed by players then. That will create the major challenge for the first pilots during the first month after the game launch.
Within time new Constellations may be be introduced — being actually a DLC, it will contain new Planets to explore, Blueprints for new Ships and Modules as well as new types of Resources.
All the new pilots will start the game in the “Homestead” Constellation. That is relatively safe and friendly environment to get started for newcomers.
